Country Cricket: A Brief Overview

1980:            Country Cricket Advisory Committee formed (chaired by WACA Cricket Council Chairman.

1983:            Country Cricket Executive established (sub-committee of WACA Cricket Council.

1983-84        Chair - Neil Ballard.

1987:            Regional Junior Cricket Program launched, and inaugural Regional Boards formed.

1994-2004    Chair - Lyle Jones

2001:            Country Cricket Executive re-named Country Cricket Board

2004-16:       Chair - Peter Silinger

2005-11        CCB appointed as a member of the Statewide Cricket Committee (SCC)

2008:            Formally affiliated with the WACA.

2008             First CCB member elected as WACA Board Director - Peter Silinger (2008-2018)

2011:            CCB appointed as a member of the Statewide Game Development Committee (replaced SCC)

2011:            Central Districts & Wheatbelt region merged.

2012:            Peel joined the CCB

2013:            Inaugural Country Masters Carnival

2013:            Pilbara Regional Cricket Board formed

2015:            Two Independant members appointed to the CCB.

2016:            Chair - Rob Marshall (Current Chair)

2016:            Women's Country XI compete at Australian Country Cricket Championships for the first time.

2017:            Men's Country XI and Country Colts re-introduced into T20 Premier League Competitions.

2019:            Men's Country XI win Toyota Australian Country Cricket Championships in Victoria

2019:            100th Year Anniversary - Senior Men's Country Week
