To Our Valued Club Leaders
WA Cricket today announced an exciting new three-year partnership with Healthway to deliver a comprehensive Think Mental Health community campaign. Over the course of the multi-year partnership, WA Cricket will work with clubs across the state to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing and provide education and resourcing to cricket clubs to foster positive mental health and wellbeing practices.
Positive Mental health and wellbeing is a critical aspect of overall health. As a state sporting organisation, with clubs as far north as Broome and as far south as Esperance, WA Cricket is well positioned to play an active role in promoting positive messages about the importance of mental health and wellbeing and supporting our cricket communities throughout the state through education and resource support.
Through this partnership, WA Cricket hopes to reinforce the importance of prioritising education and awareness of mental health within the cricketing community, so our players, coaches, administrators, and supporters can lead healthier, more fulfilling lives, both on and off the cricket ground.
Our partnership with Healthway is centered on the Think Mental Health campaign and its key messages of community awareness, education, and connection to professional services, which is part of a comprehensive approach that aims to support all Western Australians to increase and maintain their own level of optimal mental health and wellbeing. This three-year initiative will focus on awareness, education, and resource support for clubs across the state. To ensure a holistic approach to the delivery of this initiative, WA Cricket will work in partnership with our key Affiliates as well as other key stakeholders including SportsWest, Healthway and the Mental Health Commission.
As the first step in this partnership’s connection with our WA cricket community, we ask all clubs to complete the below survey telling us about any existing mental health and wellbeing initiatives your club has in place, including any Mental Health providers and charities you work with. This will provide WA Cricket with an understanding of the current work WA clubs are already doing in this space, providing us with best practice and case studies that we can continue to support and learn from.

As the delivery plan for this initiative is developed, WA Cricket will communicate more about how your club can get involved and the support available to you. Thank you for all you do for cricket across our state and look forward to your engagement with this important initiative.
